Our hope is to engage more kids in fun, interactive activities inside and outside, learn new games and to meet new people. We play on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Rec Center at 1:30-2:30 pm each day. Our schedule is as follows:Mondays are pool days! Join us at 1:30 pm at the Rec Center pool for group games, swimming challenges and much more!Wednesdays are dry land days! Join us at 1:30 pm at the Cascade Rec Center for fun activities outside. Some days we will travel to the lake or local hiking trails for more fun outdoor activities!*There will be no refunds after the program start date.

Cascade Aquatic & Recreation is proud to partner with AquAbility.  Our lap pool is utilized by AquAbility's certified instructors to provide in-water recreation.  For many people with disabilities, swimming is the only activity they can do without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!  No prior swimming experience necessary. The sessions are a ½ hour and are scheduled Wednesdays between 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The public and classes will continue during this time. AquAbility provides year-round therapeutic aquatic programs for people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of permanent disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, visual or auditory impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, amputation, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis, stroke, multi-trauma, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. AquAbility is committed to developing independence and ability, enhancing health and fitness, increasing self-esteem, and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. AquAbility is an Idaho non-profit corporation committed to providing recreation and sport through swimming for people with a variety of physical challenges. AquAbility is also a Paralympic Sports Club; a division of the U S Olympic Committee, offering community-based sports for adults, youth and veterans with physical and visual challenges. Open KayakA time specifically set aside for kayakers to come and use the pool to practice techniques.Lap swimmers may use the lane lines on the east side during Open Kayak times. Please be mindful of this.For youth kayakers, an adult (18+) parent / guardian present in the pool area at all times.You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent ours for $5.00 (limited quantity, includes skirts).  A membership or purchase of a day pass is needed.  The pass allows access to the facility from open to close.Personal kayaks must be scrubbed thoroughly with a scrub brush, removing all from algae, dirt and debris (pine needles).  We provide the cleaning supplies in the blue "Kayak" bucket outside the men's locker room.

Why should your child join our swim team? Swimming should be FUN! Being on a swim team is a great way to extend a child’s love of the water beyond mere recreational activities! Kids who aren’t comfortable with other sports may excel in swimming if given the opportunity! It feels good to be part of a team.  Researchers have found that it’s also a boost to overall health and well-being. Kids are welcome to try a class at NO CHARGE! How the Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team Works:Our swim team is led by Coach Laurie Fletcher and is assisted by Coach Doug Green.  They are a great pair, each of whom has impressive backgrounds in competitive swimming and coaching.  Connecting with each kid and thoughtfully encouraging them are just a few of their special qualities.Kids are welcome to try a class at no charge to see if they are interested.  Please contact Michelle Whipple michelle@cascaderec.org to discuss a free trial date. Swim Team is a free class with purchase of a facility membership.T-shirts with our awesome logo and child's name are available for adults and kids for $10.  It’s great to wear the shirts to school and around to promote awareness of our swim team!  During the swim team registration process, you will be asked if you want to purchase a t-shirt.We encourage the team to use Speedo Adult or Jr. Vanquisher 2.0 Mirrored Swim Goggle.  It offers panoramic anti-fog lens with UV protection and the mirror lens helps reduce brightness and glare from the sun.  These are available for sale in our pro shop in the lobby.Scholarships are available for membership or purchase of needed items.We offer two year-round swim teams:Cascade Killer Whales Senior Swim Team Improve and refine all strokes, develop powerful swimming by utilizing enhanced stroke and breathing techniques, and increase stamina drills.  To be a swim team member, your child must be able to swim the length of our pool (25 yards) unaided. Practices:During the school year, senior swim team practices will be held:Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays4:00 - 5:00 PMThe child can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule.  We are flexible.In competitive swimming, swimmers can use all four of these types of strokes, or some of the strokes individually, as well as in medley (or combination style) events. Swim teams also often swim in relay events where members of the team work together and trade places at either end of the pool. Once on a team, children are usually grouped by age. Our groups are: 10 and under, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, and 17 to 18. Our team competes at swim meets, which is optional to members.  There may be swim meet dues.  We plan to host fundraisers to keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum and be a financially self-sustaining program.On May 11, 2019, Cascade Aquatic & Recreation Center hosted their first swim meet.  It was a day of great sportsmanship and showcased the team's hard work by winning all but one heat!  WOW! What a confidence-builder for the kids! Cascade Killer Whales Junior Swim Club A new, preparatory club for future swim team kids who have completed swimming lessons and want to develop strength, endurance, stroke and breathing techniques.Practices:During the school year, senior swim team practices will be held:Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays4:00 - 5:00 PMThe child can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule.  We are flexible.

Please be mindful of this.For youth kayakers, an adult (18+) parent / guardian present in the pool area at all times.You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent ours for $5.00 (limited quantity, includes skirts).  A membership or purchase of a day pass is needed.  The pass allows access to the facility from open to close.Personal kayaks must be scrubbed thoroughly with a scrub brush, removing all from algae, dirt and debris (pine needles).  We provide the cleaning supplies in the blue "Kayak" bucket outside the men's locker room.

Our hope is to engage more kids in fun, interactive activities inside and outside, learn new games and to meet new people. We play on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Rec Center at 1:30-2:30 pm each day. Our schedule is as follows:Mondays are pool days! Join us at 1:30 pm at the Rec Center pool for group games, swimming challenges and much more!Wednesdays are dry land days! Join us at 1:30 pm at the Cascade Rec Center for fun activities outside. Some days we will travel to the lake or local hiking trails for more fun outdoor activities!*There will be no refunds after the program start date.

Cascade Aquatic & Recreation is proud to partner with AquAbility.  Our lap pool is utilized by AquAbility's certified instructors to provide in-water recreation.  For many people with disabilities, swimming is the only activity they can do without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!  No prior swimming experience necessary. The sessions are a ½ hour and are scheduled Wednesdays between 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The public and classes will continue during this time. AquAbility provides year-round therapeutic aquatic programs for people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of permanent disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, visual or auditory impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, amputation, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis, stroke, multi-trauma, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. AquAbility is committed to developing independence and ability, enhancing health and fitness, increasing self-esteem, and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. Cascade Aquatic & Recreation is proud to partner with AquAbility.  Our lap pool is utilized by AquAbility's certified instructors to provide in-water recreation.  For many people with disabilities, swimming is the only activity they can do without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!  No prior swimming experience necessary. The sessions are a ½ hour and are scheduled Wednesdays between 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The public and classes will continue during this time. AquAbility provides year-round therapeutic aquatic programs for people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of permanent disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, visual or auditory impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, amputation, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis, stroke, multi-trauma, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. AquAbility is committed to developing independence and ability, enhancing health and fitness, increasing self-esteem, and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. Our team competes at swim meets, which is optional to members.  There may be swim meet dues.  We plan to host fundraisers to keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum and be a financially self-sustaining program.On May 11, 2019, Cascade Aquatic & Recreation Center hosted their first swim meet.  It was a day of great sportsmanship and showcased the team's hard work by winning all but one heat!  WOW! What a confidence-builder for the kids! Open KayakA time specifically set aside for kayakers to come and use the pool to practice techniques.Lap swimmers may use the lane lines on the east side during Open Kayak times. Please be mindful of this.For youth kayakers, an adult (18+) parent / guardian present in the pool area at all times.You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent ours for $5.00 (limited quantity, includes skirts).  A membership or purchase of a day pass is needed.  The pass allows access to the facility from open to close.Personal kayaks must be scrubbed thoroughly with a scrub brush, removing all from algae, dirt and debris (pine needles).  We provide the cleaning supplies in the blue "Kayak" bucket outside the men's locker room.

Cascade Aquatic & Recreation is proud to partner with AquAbility.  Our lap pool is utilized by AquAbility's certified instructors to provide in-water recreation.  For many people with disabilities, swimming is the only activity they can do without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!  No prior swimming experience necessary. The sessions are a ½ hour and are scheduled Wednesdays between 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The public and classes will continue during this time. AquAbility provides year-round therapeutic aquatic programs for people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of permanent disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, visual or auditory impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, amputation, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis, stroke, multi-trauma, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. AquAbility is committed to developing independence and ability, enhancing health and fitness, increasing self-esteem, and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. AquAbility is an Idaho non-profit corporation committed to providing recreation and sport through swimming for people with a variety of physical challenges. Cascade Aquatic & Recreation is proud to partner with AquAbility.  Our lap pool is utilized by AquAbility's certified instructors to provide in-water recreation.  For many people with disabilities, swimming is the only activity they can do without any kind of assistance. This is a priceless freedom!  No prior swimming experience necessary. The sessions are a ½ hour and are scheduled Wednesdays between 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The public and classes will continue during this time. AquAbility provides year-round therapeutic aquatic programs for people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of permanent disabilities including but not limited to: spinal cord injury, visual or auditory impairment, Multiple Sclerosis, amputation, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, paralysis, stroke, multi-trauma, PTSD, Parkinson’s Disease, Down Syndrome, Autism, and developmental disabilities. AquAbility is committed to developing independence and ability, enhancing health and fitness, increasing self-esteem, and improving quality of life for people with disabilities. Why should your child join our swim team? Swimming should be FUN! Being on a swim team is a great way to extend a child’s love of the water beyond mere recreational activities! Kids who aren’t comfortable with other sports may excel in swimming if given the opportunity! It feels good to be part of a team.  Researchers have found that it’s also a boost to overall health and well-being. Kids are welcome to try a class at NO CHARGE! How the Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team Works:Our swim team is led by Coach Laurie Fletcher and is assisted by Coach Doug Green.  They are a great pair, each of whom has impressive backgrounds in competitive swimming and coaching.  Connecting with each kid and thoughtfully encouraging them are just a few of their special qualities.Kids are welcome to try a class at no charge to see if they are interested.  Please contact Michelle Whipple michelle@cascaderec.org to discuss a free trial date. Swim Team is a free class with purchase of a facility membership.T-shirts with our awesome logo and child's name are available for adults and kids for $10.  It’s great to wear the shirts to school and around to promote awareness of our swim team!  During the swim team registration process, you will be asked if you want to purchase a t-shirt.We encourage the team to use Speedo Adult or Jr. Vanquisher 2.0 Mirrored Swim Goggle.  It offers panoramic anti-fog lens with UV protection and the mirror lens helps reduce brightness and glare from the sun.  These are available for sale in our pro shop in the lobby.Scholarships are available for membership or purchase of needed items.We offer two year-round swim teams:Cascade Killer Whales Senior Swim Team Improve and refine all strokes, develop powerful swimming by utilizing enhanced stroke and breathing techniques, and increase stamina drills.  To be a swim team member, your child must be able to swim the length of our pool (25 yards) unaided. Practices:During the school year, senior swim team practices will be held:Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays4:00 - 5:00 PMThe child can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule.  We are flexible.In competitive swimming, swimmers can use all four of these types of strokes, or some of the strokes individually, as well as in medley (or combination style) events. Swim teams also often swim in relay events where members of the team work together and trade places at either end of the pool. Once on a team, children are usually grouped by age. Our groups are: 10 and under, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, and 17 to 18. Our team competes at swim meets, which is optional to members.  There may be swim meet dues.  We plan to host fundraisers to keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum and be a financially self-sustaining program.On May 11, 2019, Cascade Aquatic & Recreation Center hosted their first swim meet.  It was a day of great sportsmanship and showcased the team's hard work by winning all but one heat!  WOW! What a confidence-builder for the kids!
