Open KayakA time specifically set aside for kayakers to come and use the pool to practice techniques.Lap swimmers may use the lane lines on the east side during Open Kayak times. Please be mindful of this.For youth kayakers, an adult (18+) parent / guardian present in the pool area at all times.You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent ours for $5.00 (limited quantity, includes skirts).  A membership or purchase of a day pass is needed.  The pass allows access to the facility from open to close.NOTE: Personal kayaks MUST be scrubbed thoroughly with a scrub brush and our chlorine/bleach solution, removing all from algae, dirt and debris (pine needles).  We provide the cleaning supplies in the blue "Kayak" bucket outside the men's locker room.
 
8:00 AM - 9:15 AM    Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team - Cascade Killer Whales- Sr. Swim Team
Why should your child join our swim team? Swimming should be FUN! Being on a swim team is a great way to extend a child’s love of the water beyond mere recreational activities! Kids who aren’t comfortable with other sports may excel in swimming if given the opportunity! It feels good to be part of a team.  Researchers have found that it’s also a boost to overall health and well-being. Kids are welcome to try a class at NO CHARGE! How the Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team Works:Our swim team is led by Coach Laurie Fletcher and is assisted by Coach Doug Green.  They are a great pair, each of whom has impressive backgrounds in competitive swimming and coaching.  Connecting with each kid and thoughtfully encouraging them are just a few of their special qualities.Kids are welcome to try a class at no charge to see if they are interested.  Please contact Greta Kleberg at gretabaier@cascaderec.org to discuss a free trial date. Therapy pool definition Pool therapy, or hydrotherapy, is an exercise program designed to be performed while a person is submerged or buoyed in water. This form of physical therapy is particularly beneficial because it significantly decreases the stress placed on the neck and back that can occur with high-impact exercises. Therapy pool definition Pool therapy, or hydrotherapy, is an exercise program designed to be performed while a person is submerged or buoyed in water. This form of physical therapy is particularly beneficial because it significantly decreases the stress placed on the neck and back that can occur with high-impact exercises. Practices:The child can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule. We are flexible.In competitive swimming, swimmers can use all four of these types of strokes, or some of the strokes individually, as well as in medley (or combination style) events. Swim teams also often swim in relay events where members of the team work together and trade places at either end of the pool. Once on a team, children are usually grouped by age. Our groups are: 10 and under, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, and 17 to 18. Open KayakA time specifically set aside for kayakers to come and use the pool to practice techniques.Lap swimmers may use the lane lines on the east side during Open Kayak times. Please be mindful of this.For youth kayakers, an adult (18+) parent / guardian present in the pool area at all times.You are welcome to bring your own gear or rent ours for $5.00 (limited quantity, includes skirts).  A membership or purchase of a day pass is needed.  The pass allows access to the facility from open to close.NOTE: Personal kayaks MUST be scrubbed thoroughly with a scrub brush and our chlorine/bleach solution, removing all from algae, dirt and debris (pine needles).  We provide the cleaning supplies in the blue "Kayak" bucket outside the men's locker room.

Therapy pool definition Pool therapy, or hydrotherapy, is an exercise program designed to be performed while a person is submerged or buoyed in water. This form of physical therapy is particularly beneficial because it significantly decreases the stress placed on the neck and back that can occur with high-impact exercises. While swimming is a fun activity, it’s important that children know how to swim correctly so they can be safe in the water. That’s where swimming lessons come in. Our instructors emphasize comfort and security in the water as well as good technique.Group Swim LessonsGroup lessons for Level 1/2 will be twice a week for 4 weeks. Group lessons for Level 3/4 and 5/6 will be 4 days a week for 2 weeks. Students will work together with a swim instructor(s) in a group setting. Lesson sessions should be repeated until the student is ready to progress to the next level. While swimming is a fun activity, it’s important that children know how to swim correctly so they can be safe in the water. That’s where swimming lessons come in. Our instructors emphasize comfort and security in the water as well as good technique.Group Swim LessonsGroup lessons for Level 1/2 will be twice a week for 4 weeks. Group lessons for Level 3/4 and 5/6 will be 4 days a week for 2 weeks. Students will work together with a swim instructor(s) in a group setting. Lesson sessions should be repeated until the student is ready to progress to the next level. Therapy pool definition Pool therapy, or hydrotherapy, is an exercise program designed to be performed while a person is submerged or buoyed in water. This form of physical therapy is particularly beneficial because it significantly decreases the stress placed on the neck and back that can occur with high-impact exercises. Practices:The child can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule. We are flexible.In competitive swimming, swimmers can use all four of these types of strokes, or some of the strokes individually, as well as in medley (or combination style) events. Swim teams also often swim in relay events where members of the team work together and trade places at either end of the pool. Once on a team, children are usually grouped by age. Our groups are: 10 and under, 11 to 12, 13 to 14, 15 to 16, and 17 to 18. Our team competes at swim meets, which is optional to members.  Cascade Killer Whales Junior Swim Club A new, preparatory club for future swim team kids who have completed swimming lessons and want to develop strength, endurance, stroke and breathing techniques.
