The initial creation of the Southern Valley County Recreation District in 1998 set out to build a center that would foster and showcase local swimming talent and that dream came to fruition on May 11, 2019. We are extremely proud of our youth swimmers, their coaches, and our community for supporting this long awaited dream! We have been astounded and delighted in the growth and success of the new Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team/Club! The program has grown from 5 swimmers to 21 swimmers in just 7 months! Head Coach Laurie Fletcher and Assistant Coach Doug Green both have impressive backgrounds in competitive swimming and have shared their talents and skills with our swimmers. The Team/Club have been meeting twice weekly every week, working hard to improve their endurance, breathing, technique, and efficiency. The results of their dedication to the sport spoke for themselves at our first swim meet, conducted at our pool on May 11, 2019. Our team took more than a dozen first-place wins against the McCall Marlins. We celebrated with an ice cream party and handed out a bunch of ribbons! Congratulations Cascade Killer Whales! Your dedication, strength and determination shined bright! We are so proud!
