Why should your child join our swim team?
-Swimming should be FUN!
-Kids who aren’t comfortable with other sports may excel in swimming if given the opportunity!
-It feels good to be part of a team. Researchers have found that it’s also a boost to overall health and well-being.
-Kids MUST tryout for Head Coach Laurie at NO CHARGE!

How the Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team Works:
-Our swim team is led by Coach Laurie Fletcher.
-Kids interested in joining the Cascade Killer Whales Swim Team must tryout for Head Coach Laurie Fletcher. You can email Laurie@cascaderec.org to schedule a time for your child to tryout.
-Swimmers must provide their own goggles. If you do not have goggles, you can purchase a pair at the front desk.

Junior Swim Team
To join junior swim team you MUST schedule a tryout with coach Laurie Fletcher.
Jr. swim team is for swimmers who have passed level 5/6 group lessons or who are able to swim 25yrds of freestyle breathing to the side and 25yrds of backstroke. This is decided by Head Coach Laurie after the child tries out for the team.
If the child does not pass the tryout, you will be given options to progress the swimmers skills to work towards joining the team.
Jr. swim team is a entry level team that focuses on building the swimmers stroke skills and techniques. Swimmers on Jr. swim team are working towards meeting and surpassing individual goals to compete in swim meets and eventually move up to our Sr. swim team.

Senior Swim Team
Swimmers that have progressed or have been placed into Sr. swim team at tryouts will be working on improving and refining all strokes, developing powerful swimming by utilizing enhanced stroke and breathing techniques, and increasing stamina.
Sr. swimmers are required to compete in at least one swim meet a year.

Practices: Swimmers can attend all practice days or a combination of days that work for their schedule.
